Head of Primary Message Week 29

Thank you for joining our Celebration of Learning this week, I really hope parents and family members enjoyed spending time in our classrooms. It was great to see such engagement and I know the pupils really enjoyed showing you how they work and play in school.

Next week is Book Week! We have lots planned beginning with our Dress Up Day on Monday 27th April. Pupils are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character or in an outfit inspired by their favourite story. It's always a highlight of the year, with full creativity on show.

As part of Book Week, we are delighted to share that number of local authors and illustrators will be coming into school to run workshops and share their work. Year 6 will be working with CuboiArt [INSTAGRAM] exploring cartooning, ideation (generation & maturation), story telling through cartoons, alongside opportunities to learn from cartooning tips and demo sketches.

All pupils in Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 will also work with Gabrielle Chin, author of Simpang 424. Using the illustrated memoirs as inspiration, pupils will looks at storytelling and illustration. Copies of Simpang 424 will also be on sale in the Primary Office from Tuesday 28th April with a chance for signed copies! More details to follow....

And not to be left out, pupils in Year 1 and Year 2 will also welcome local author, Pauline Chan who will be coming in to school to share her stories. Lucy's Fantastic Flying Adventure will also be on sale from the Primary Office if children want their very own copy.

The Sound of Music 🎶

To round off the week, Year 2 to Year 5 pupils will all be performing on stage in their Music Concert. Parents are invited to join us in the Theatre for what promises to be a real treat. The specific performance timings are shared below and we look forward to welcoming you back into school. Please also note a change of date for the Year 6 Music Concert, now scheduled for Monday 15th June in the evening (7pm). And Year 1 will be performing the following week with Reception and Year 1 performing later in the term.
