Head of Primary Message Week 16



Welcome back to a new calendar year and to the continuation of our school year as we move into Term 2.


It has been a pleasure to see how quickly students have settled back into school life. The campus has been busy from the first day, with a real sense of energy and purpose across classrooms and shared spaces. Our new students have adapted especially well to new routines and expectations, and I am sure many have already been coming home with stories of new friendships and exciting experiences. School should be a place where learning is challenging and enjoyable, and I hope all students have been ending their days tired in the best possible way, with plenty to share about what they have been learning and experiencing.



Curriculum Overviews

As we begin the term, I want to highlight the importance of sharing our curriculum overviews with parents. These overviews are a key part of keeping you informed about what your children are learning, how learning progresses over time, and how attainment is supported across each year group. You can access the full set of curriculum overviews, organised year by year and term by term, using the link below:



In addition, you will find a pinned note at the top of Seesaw which includes a quick link to the specific curriculum overview for your child’s year group. This information is shared for reference and as part of an ongoing learning partnership. A strong home–school partnership continues to be one of the most effective ways to support positive learning outcomes for children, and we are very grateful for the consistent support parents provide in reinforcing and engaging with the work we do in school.



Term 2 ECAs

We are also pleased to share the Term 2 Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) schedule with you. The link below contains all ECA information, including the full schedule organised by year group, detailed activity descriptions, and the sign-up forms:



ℹ️ Key information:

  • The ECA sign-up process will open at 4:00 PM on Friday 9th January.

  • ECAs will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Confirmation of ECA placements will be shared with parents via EduLink (email) next week.


Please note that spaces are limited for some ECAs and certain activities may become oversubscribed. To maximise your child’s opportunities, we encourage you to indicate a second-choice ECA when completing the form. We will make every effort to allocate as many first and second choices as possible.


Please also note that the ECA schedule will be reduced during Ramadhan. Specific information will be shared directly with families whose ECAs are affected.



Around the World 🌏

A reminder that this year’s whole school production will be loosely inspired by Around the World in 80 Days. Auditions for Primary students will take place on 🗓️ Thursday 15th January, 2:30–4:00 PM.


All audition details and preparation guidance are outlined on the production page below. Please ensure this is reviewed in advance of auditions:



This term is a particularly busy one, with Ramadhan, National Day and Chinese New Year all taking place, and we look forward to sharing these important moments with the children.



🗓️ Key dates:

Friday 16th January is a public holiday and the school will be closed.

Parent Teacher Consultations will take place on 10th and 11th February.
