Head of Primary Message Week 9

A tremendously busy first half term finished off in style with International Day. Thank you to the entire ISB community for making the day one to remember. Look out on social media, Seesaw and the Primary Newsfeed for lots of photos and videos taken throughout the day!

The theme this year was Universal Human Values and this was certainly on display in abundance throughout each performance, during the sharing of food, traditional dress, exchanges of culture and the Parade of Nations. A whole school performance on the Piano Steps was a particular highlight.

This week, we had the opportunity to host parents for discussions about each individual child (a small number of meetings have been postponed until after the mid-term break). Attendance over the two days was fantastic and we have published an overview of the feedback, as well as the frequency asked questions, to the Primary Newsfeed here.

As part of our wider cycle of reporting to parents, we will be hosting a Celebration of Learning morning on Friday 4th November. This will be a great opportunity for parents to spend some time with their children in the respective learning environments, to have a more detailed insight into their child's learning journey and work alongside students. We welcome parents from 7:45am and will open with a performance by Yr4 on the Piano Steps before moving to classrooms. For a full overview of the calendar of events, check out the What's On section of the Primary Newsfeed.

Coming up in November we will be launching Barvember, an entire month of Bar Model problems to solve together. More details to follow during the first week back...

I hope you have a restful mid-term break.

Mr Michael Everett | Head of Primary
