Looking Back → and Ahead

The first half of the term has flown by, a sure sign of how full and purposeful life in Primary continues to be. Each week has brought new opportunities for learning, creativity, and connection, and the energy across classrooms and playgrounds has been fantastic.

From our youngest learners, who have made a wonderful start in their play-rich environments, to our older students developing their skills and confidence across subjects, it’s been a term full of curiosity and progress. Whether it’s mathematical thinking, storytelling, or scientific enquiry, students have been fully engaged and achieving highly.

Beyond the classroom, students have continued to grow personally and socially, through teamwork, leadership, and care for others. Year 6 have embraced their leadership roles brilliantly, and our Year 5 students are already looking forward to their jungle expedition next half term. ECAs, class events, and collaborative projects have added to the sense of momentum and community that defines ISB.

Thank You 🙏

A big thank you also to all teachers for hosting the Parent Teacher Meetings this week, and to parents for taking the time to attend. These conversations are a vital part of the partnership that supports each child’s progress. Notes from the meetings are now being added to Seesaw and will continue to appear early next week.

International Day 🌏

As we look forward to the second half of Term 1, our attention turns to one of the highlights of the ISB calendar: International Day, taking place on Friday of the first week back.

This celebration of culture, community, and connection is always a memorable occasion, bringing together the full diversity of ISB in one vibrant day of colour, food, music, and pride.

Comprehensive information will be shared on Monday of the first week back, with full details of how the day works, both as a reminder for returning families and as guidance for those new to ISB. The information will include everything you need to know about:

  • How to take part in the Parade of Nations

  • How to watch the performances

  • How to enjoy the food and culture stalls, either under the supervision of parents or school staff

We’ll make sure everyone knows exactly how to take part and enjoy the day to its fullest, more details to follow 🔜.

As we head into the half-term break, thank you once again for your continued partnership and support. The success of this first half term is a reflection of our shared commitment to giving every child the best possible learning experience.

We wish all our students, families, and staff a restful and well-deserved break, and we look forward to seeing everyone again, ready to begin another exciting chapter when we return.

If you have any questions about any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to message in Seesaw.
