It's been another busy couple of weeks, culminating in the fantastic Yr3 - Yr6 Swim Gala. Congratulations to all swimmers and competitors, the talent on show in the pool was outstanding. Special mention also for the staff and student leaders involved in the planning and preparation, we will share the timings and results in a link to follow. 👏 👏
And the staff race was won by the best team, with the help of only one Olympian!
Achievement Awards 🏆
I am delighted to introduce the very first ISB Primary Achievement Awards 2026. On Friday 19th June in the ISB Theatre, we will celebrate individual students' achievement in Reading, Writing, Science and Maths.
Parents of those students winning awards will be invited to join us. So keep an eye out for a Seesaw message. As the title suggests, nominations for these awards will be based on overall achievement, and our definition is below:
Achievement: How a student's attainment and progress compare to what's expected of them. This is an individualised judgement, unique to each student.
We are really keen to celebrate a small number of individual successes this year and this event will include everyone from Yr1 to Yr6. More details to follow.
Moving Up ⬆
As we move into the very last few weeks of the current academic year, we have been planning for the move up in August. Later today, all parents will see that their child has been added to a new class for next year in Seesaw. There will also be a short video instruction to inform parents how they access a class list. As the wellbeing and safeguarding of our children is a collective responsibility, I ask that these class lists are not screenshot and shared anywhere else. Each parent (when logged into Seesaw using their child's login) can access the class information for their own child.
If by the weekend you don't see the new class in Seesaw (and your child is remaining at ISB next year), please just let me know. Please also do not hesitate to message if you require a new student code to login, as logging in as a parent will not allow you to access this information.
Any questions, please just send a message in Seesaw.
Next week, all students will be making a visit to their next class teacher and new year group. For the current Year 6, transitioning to Secondary, you will have a full two day programme and information is being sent to you in Seesaw today. For all students currently in Pre Kindy to Yr5, you will all move up on Tuesday next week.
ℹ️ Please note that students leaving ISB at the end of this academic year will also experience the new year group and will move up with a friend. We have also invited new students to join us for the day.
House Captains 🆕
We are incredibly proud of our House Captains, they continue to do a great job. Most recently, they hosted both an art competition and a chess tournament, both new initiatives for this year. However, their time is now coming to an end! And as with all leadership positions, as one leaves a new improved version quickly arrives. 😉
With that said, we are now looking for NEW HOUSE CAPTAINS from the current Year 5 cohort. Later today, a special message will be sent to all Year 5 students to invite them to apply for this most important of roles. Who will your new House Captains be? We will soon find out....
Books 📚
As the year draws to a close, we will soon be requesting the return of all school library and reading books. Please keep an eye out for more information. If you have any books that have been damaged (or lost), please just let me know and we will work out a solution.
There is still plenty to come this term, please see below for the main events with further details and reminders regularly posted to Seesaw.
Thank you for your continued partnership. If you have any questions about these upcoming events, please do not hesitate to message us in Seesaw.
