FOBISIA GAMES SPECIAL

A special congratulations to our U11 FOBISIA Games squad. Students from both Bandar and Seria campuses were selected to represent ISB (and Brunei) in Thailand recently. The FOBISIA games are a great opportunity to build responsibility, resilience and self-organisation, as well as being incredibly competitive.

Hosted at Pattana Sports Resort, Thailand 🇹🇭 where 8 schools from China, Thailand and Singapore competed in Track & Field, Swimming, Tee Ball and Football. Although success is not purely defined by medals and trophies, we are delighted to reports that our students achieved 70 medals in total including 25 GOLD! 🥇

Every single athlete competing won at least one medal. Skye and Savvy were awarded 5 each, and Trevor and Khant 6 each. In addition, Trevor broke the FOBISIA Games record for 25m Butterfly. And if that's not enough, Trevor, Jax, Mason and Khant also set a new record for the 25m Medley Relay! 👏 Overall the squad came 3rd in the Swimming and 1st in the Tee Ball.

In a special Assembly today, Eddy and Merna shared their perspective on what it's like to compete at the games in order to inspire the next squad for 2027. Jess and Jax also thanked the staff and sponsors for supporting the squad in the lead up to the games, including numerous training sessions.

This will be the final time Mr Morley leads a squad to the FOBISIA Games after 9 years. Did you know that during this time, ISB athletes have been awarded over 800 medals! Mr Morley wished those trying out for the U13 and U11 Games in 2027 all the best of luck and also reminded everyone that luck is when preparation meets opportunity.

A final note from us
