Head of Primary Message Week 12

Inquire & Share is back for another week. Inquire & Share Part 2 will begin on Monday 22nd November with activities posted to the new Inquire & Share folder on Seesaw. In addition to the work completed within the regular class groups, students in Year 1 to Year 6 will also be working on Inquiry Learning projects all week. There will also be a new time travelling adventure from Miss Honey. We know from last time that students found the week to be incredibly valuable and enjoyable and we were delighted with the feedback.

During the final week of November, the Barvember Maths challenges will move to the regular class folders on Seesaw. This final week of November is a perfect opportunity to attempt one of the more tricky questions. Parents may be wondering why we use Bar Models in school. NumBots recently released a very interesting Blog Post which gives a more detailed overview. I know that many parents continue to value the opportunity to learn alongside their children when attempting to solve the daily problems. I also hope that Barvember has so far been an opportunity for parents to have a greater insight into our Mastery Learning approach to Maths. We look forward to returning to campus and being able to offer more parent workshops in this important area of the curriculum in the near future.

A very special thank you and congratulations must go to our Primary House Captains. This Term they have worked tirelessly to ensure that each week there is a really enjoyable House Challenge for all. Having a look back at all of their creativity and enthusiasm, it is clear to see that Eloise, Liam, Noah, Amani, Princess Muneerah, Leanné, Ashlee and Ezra are already showing tremendous leadership qualities. We look forward to seeing how these progress even further as we return to campus.

There has been a spotlight on Year 1 this week, with writing, storytelling, language learning, superheroes, painting, presenting, singing, dancing, moving, reading, collaborating, catching, throwing, drumming, collecting, sorting, creating, feeling and comparing all celebrated. Congratulations to all, such a wonderful Year Group.

We continue to make improvements to the Primary Newsfeed to ensure that this is a central hub for all the information you need.
