Another busy week across Primary:

It was a pleasure to welcome families to the ISB campus for our first Celebration of Learning. The day started beautifully with a rendition of two songs performed by Year 4 students on the Piano Steps. This really set the tone for the morning which saw parents and children engaged in learning activities in every classroom.
The Celebration of Learning events form part of our wider reporting to parents and they are a great opportunity to have first hand experiences within your child's learning environment. Today, there were various workshops and lessons covering all aspects of our broad and balanced curriculum. Learning outcomes were also on show and I know that students were delighted to see their parents within the classrooms!

All week we have been challenging students and families with new Bar Modelling problems to solve. For students in Year 2 and up, you will find these within the Special Events folder of your Seesaw account. All Barvember questions and video explanations of the answers have also been published to the Primary Newsfeed here. I know that some families have really been enjoying the challenge of completing the daily Maths problems. Have you managed to solve question 5 yet?

Free Write Friday remains an important part of our provision. For students in Year 2 to Year 6, you will find a weekly Free Write Friday activity posted to the Special Events folder. This is a great opportunity or students to share their writing with a wider audience through Seesaw. All Free Write Friday resources are also available on the Primary Newsfeed here and a comprehensive guide to the wider concept is available here. The quality of writing being shared is great and we love reading them all.

For students in Year 3 to Year 6, our Secondary IB students have launched a digital art competition. Full details within the Special Events folder on Seesaw with a focus on 'celebrating my culture' and 'a special place in my life'. We will share some of the entries on the Primary Newsfeed in the coming weeks.
Next week, it is Art Week for Secondary Students (not Primary). However, if students in Year 3 to Yr6 would like to bring a couple of dollars to school on Wednesday or Thursday, there will be some lunchtime activities that they can join in with such as sponge the teacher and cupcake decorating. We will send a reminder on Monday.

There is a lot going on during the last four weeks before the end of term break. Winter Wonderland, sports days, Brunei Junior Sports League and overnight events. Full details always available on the What's On section the Primary Newsfeed.
