Today, we officially marked the final day of Primary for the Class of 2026. The Year 6 Ceremony is always a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and dedication shown by everyone. Congratulations to Year 6 on your special day, you now officially belong to Secondary! đź‘‹

As a Primary school, our aim is always to provide the most solid foundations possible; our job is to ensure we remove every potential barrier to future success. As I mentioned last week, ISB is blessed with exceptional staff, children, and families who always find a way to ensure that everyone excels.

On a personal note, this marks the conclusion of my seven years at ISB and my final end-of-week message. I arrived in Brunei just as this current cohort of Year 6 students was beginning Reception, so it feels incredibly special to have seen them (almost) all the way through.

My priority has always been to foster a fully inclusive culture where everyone is heard and seen, ensuring we send up well-prepared, well-rounded children ready to shape the next generation. Looking out at the ISB Theatre today, I saw the future scientists, entertainers, sports stars, thinkers, mathematicians, entrepreneurs, changemakers, teachers, leaders, and carers. I am immensely proud that we have given them the best possible start. Now, the world belongs to them.

To close this final message, I simply want to say thank you to the wider ISB community. These past seven years have been an absolute pleasure, and I hope you are as proud of the community we have built together as I am. It is not the end, but merely time for the next chapter...

Mr. Michael Everett

Head of Primary (for just 5 more days).
