We hope everyone is continuing to stay safe and stay healthy as we approach the mid-point of Term 2. With the upcoming National Day celebrations next week, preparations are already underway for all our pupils to get involved and enjoy the very special day. Our assembly next week will highlight these activities leading towards Brunei’s National Day.
ISB’s very own Miss Honey has also made a very special video informing all pupils about the history of Brunei’s independence and very first National Day celebration in 1984. Please watch out for this special video on Seesaw next week.
This week, our Pre-Kindy and Kindy pupils took part in a Lion Dance, playing instruments and even taking turns in playing the lion during the activity. Reception pupils have been exploring patterns in Maths and have been working extremely hard during their Phonics lessons.
Year 1 have been completing activities about ‘Bears’ and have been mastering their Maths by ordering numbers up to 50. Year 2 have been writing all about themselves using full sentences and including conjunctions and adjectives.
Disaster Stories and Times Tables have been the focus of the Year 3 pupils. Year 4 have been learning about similes and metaphors in their writing. Year 5 and 6 have been planning their narrative writing whilst mastering their knowledge with decimals in Maths.
I know I say this every week, but I am so proud of our school community during these unprecedented times. Well done to all parents and guardians who are also juggling their workload, whilst assisting in the teaching and learning on Seesaw. I am greatly looking forward to thanking you, in person, in the very near future.
This week, I must mention the hardworking staff at ISB. This week they have introduced personal and bespoke videos to accompany their lessons and activities on Seesaw. Even after 6 months of virtual provision, our staff are still raising the bar to provide increasingly outstanding provision.
I do hope you join me in congratulating the phenomenal staff at ISB for providing, what I believe is, the best Virtual School Provision bar none.
Have a restful weekend and stay safe.
Mr. Rick Smith
