Head of Seria Campus Message

After twenty weeks of Virtual School, ISB are still breaking new ground! Three pupils from Year 6 helped to lead the LIVE YouTube Assembly this morning to ISB families across Brunei. A huge thank you and well doneto Drashti, Roukaya and Shanaya for their bravery, maturity and certainly being ‘risk-takers’.

The excellent House Challenge and Wellbeing sessions created exclusively today for ISB Primary pupils, have offered an opportunity to be imaginative and active as well as a chance to move away from the screen. I cannot wait to share a highlights video of these creations next week.

Pre-Kindy and Kindy pupils have been learning to be a good ‘team player’ and work cooperatively with their peers. Reception pupils have been working hard in their Phonics lessons and have been busy writing complete sentences.

In Year 1 the pupils have been comparing numbers up to 50 and learning to write poems using descriptive language. The Year 2 pupils have finished their book ‘Mrs. Mole, I’m home!’ and have been using drama and vocal skills to add expression to their reading.

‘Earthquake Proof Buildings’ have been the focus of Year 3. Pupils have also been planning and preparing to write their own disaster stories! Year 4 have continued writing their ‘Antarctic Survival Guides’, with this week’s focus being food, water and shelter.

Year 5 and 6 have been working on ‘ratio’ in Maths as well as exploring poetry and figurative language in English lessons- we look forward to reading these very soon.

I hope your child(ren) enjoyed the House Challenge and Wellbeing activities on Seesaw today. It was wonderful to see so many pupils in the Zoom Assembly at 10.15am. Also, congratulations again to our Stars of the Week.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend.
