Term 2 has begun and I am delighted to write to you at the end of this first (short) week to share some wonderful examples already received on seesaw.
The determination and dedication of all the pupils has been extremely impressive. Both current pupils and new pupils have engaged extremely well with the virtual provision and the work being uploaded to Seesaw is outstanding. I would also like to congratulate the hardworking staff for their commitment in providing valuable learning experiences, bespoke feedback and ‘drop-ins’ where necessary.
This week, the Pre-Kindy and Kindy pupils have been following instructions to make a delicious sandwich and Reception have been making resources to tell their own ‘5 Little Ducks’ story. Highlights from EYFS can be seen HERE.
Year 1 have been sharing their favourite toys and Year 2 have shared their New Year’s Resolutions. Highlights from Year 1 and Year 2 can be seen HERE.
Year 3 have been writing about their December holidays and finding out about the Earth’s Core in their new topic about ‘Extreme Earth’. Excellent English, Maths and Artwork have been the focus of the Year 4 pupils. Highlights from Year 3 and 4 can be seen HERE.
Year 5 and Year 6 have both hit the ground running with challenging English and Maths tasks in addition the Guided Reading challenges. Highlights from Year 5 and Year 6 can be seen HERE.
This work is truly superb, and we are delighted that the pupils have embraced the challenges of Virtual School.
We anticipate returning to Campus in the near future, but this does not mean we are relaxing our standards in any way. Far from it. You will soon witness the true benefits of the collaborative work from staff, across Seria and Bandar, providing the very best for our pupils.
Finally, please can I thank the wonderful staff, pupils and parents who have welcomed me to Seria. It has been a wonderful start.
Have a great weekend,
Rick Smith
Head of Seria Campus
