Head of Primary Message Week 17

Wishing a Happy Chinese New Year to all those celebrating. I hope the long weekend provides an opportunity for family and friends to enjoy time together. In school, we will be celebrating as a community on Friday 3rd February. On this day Primary students will also be invited to 'wear red' or traditional Chinese clothing. We will also be enjoying a variety of performances in our Assemblies.

We were delighted with the response to the announcement of Shrek, the next whole school Production. Those students who have expressed an interest, have been added to a special Seesaw Class. We have posted all the materials needed prior to the auditions taking place on Thursday 26th January. Good luck to all those auditioning.

Congratulations to our exceptional House Captains for hosting a successful House Week. Activities took place each lunch time and saw students compete for House Points. It was fantastic to see such excellent student leadership. I think the House Captains enjoyed having wet sponges thrown at them to conclude the week the most. Look out for photos coming soon to the Primary Newsfeed.

Please wish our FOBISIA swim team the very best of luck for their upcoming competition in Bangkok. The team depart Brunei late on Wednesday 25th January and return in the early hours on Monday 30th January. Go I S B !

We are also delighted that a group of Primary Students will soon be completing trials for the FOBISIA Under 11 games in May 2023. The U13 FOBISIA Games is a wonderful opportunity to compete on the international stage against other athletes from Southeast Asia’s International Schools. The very best of luck to all those who have entered the trials and we can't wait to see you represent ISB on the international stage.

Exciting Seesaw news!

We know that it is frustrating to have multiple accounts on Seesaw for you as a Family and Students separately. Well, now there is a solution. Seesaw have released an exciting update today which allows you to be logged into multiple accounts on the same device. This means each parent can now be logged into their Family account and each of their children's accounts, switching easily between them without the need to log in and out.

If you require any help to access your Family account or require a Home Learning Code for a Students accounts, please send a message in Seesaw.

Why do I need to be logged in to multiple accounts?

This week Pre Kindy have been looking for things that are taller or shorter than the ruler, Kindy have been sharing their show and tell items, Reception have been exploring the Eco Garden, Year 1 have been drawing and writing about old toys, Year 2 have been using part-whole models in Maths, Year 3 have been to Ancient Egypt, Year 4 have been conducting surveys, Year 5 have been making timelines and Year 6 have been visiting Secondary as part of their extended transition programme.

For all the latest dates for your diary, check out the What's On section of the Primary Newsfeed. Please note that school is closed on Monday 23rd January.

If you have any feedback about any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to send me a message in Seesaw.
